| The data collected on the first registration page is intended to allow other members to contact you. The data (and the
purpose for which it is used) is as follows: -- Name. This is obvious (I hope)
- BSAC Number. This is used to give a unique identity to every member whose records are held.
Using the BSAC Number (instead of, say, your name) ensures we don't confuse your records with another member through
changes in name, address, phone number etc.
- Address. Is to allow other members to write (as in pen or toner on paper) to you. Your address will be available to those
officers who need it (the Secretary and Diving Officer) to carry out their Club duties. Your address will also be
available to the newsletter editor to allow them to prepare the (printed) membership list and to put the newsletters in the post.
- Phone / Email. Is to allow other members to contact you (by email or phone). Your contact details will be available to those
officers who need it (the Secretary and Diving Officer) to carry out their Club duties. Your contact details will be available
to the Equipment Officer (to allow them to book Club kit out to you) and the Training Officer (to arrange training courses). Your details will also be
available to the newsletter editor to allow them to prepare the (printed) membership list.
More data is collected on the second registration page. The data (and the
purpose for which it is used) is as follows: -- MKSAC Membership. Allows the Officers of the Club to verify your entitlement (or otherwise) to participate in Club activities. Your membership type
will also be available to the newsletter editor to allow the preparation of the (printed) membership list
- BSAC Month. Is to give those officers who need it (the Secretary and Diving Officer) prior warning to enable them to issue
renewal forms and medical certificates.
- Diving / Instructor Grade. Is to allow the Diving Officer to verify the types of diving you may participate in.
Your details will be available to the Training Officer (to arrange training courses). Your details will also be
available to the newsletter editor to allow them to prepare the (printed) membership list.
- Skill Development Courses Is to allow the Diving Officer to verify the types of diving you may participate in. Your details will also be
available to the newsletter editor to allow them to prepare the (printed) newsletter.
Yet more data is requested on the third registration page. This allows you to indicate your willingness to help the club with various duties: -- Compressor rota. Is only applicable if you are a qualified compressor operator. This information is used to
assist in generating the compressor rota published in the newsletter. Subject to your agreement further down this page
your details will also be available to other members viewing the compressor rota on the website.
- Blue Lagoon rota. Is only applicable if you are a Sports Diver or above. This information is used to
assist in generating the Blue Lagoon rota published in the newsletter. Subject to your agreement further down this page
your details will also be available to other members viewing the Blue Lagoon rota on the website.
- Website consent. This is used to determine whether your details are available to members of MKSAC viewing the website.Without this agreement , your details will only be visible to those members who need such details as part of their Club duties.
Lastly: -- User name. Is used to identify yourself to the website login process. Your user name is not available to any other member.
- Password. Is used to authenticate yourself to the website login process. Your password is encrypted
on the website server for additional security. Your password is not available to any other member ( including
the system administrator)
- On line access. with the exception of the members specified above, no one will be able to view your contact details unless you
give the "go ahead" on page 3 of the registration process
